Analogical Thinking - Exercise 2

1. Bottle Lamp

The lamp (right photo) is made from bottle and I think the bottle become more effective as it can be used as lamp.

2. Airplane

Planes and birds have similar physical structures. People's dream about flying can be fulfilled because the help of birds anatomy which all have wings to fly. Now, after the planes invented people can easily fly across the continent and travel around the world.

3. Vacuum Cleaner

 The vacuum cleaner looks like elephant trunk, and even have similar function with it. The vacuum can suck all the dirt or dust, similar with the trunk that suck water or something.

Analogical Thinking - Exercise 1

1.

The bed texture is similar with the wood, and the wood become more effective as it can be used as bed decoration.

2. 

The glue gun and the gun also look a like. However, the gun become more useful as it can be use for everyday life and making craft rather than being a harmful thing that hurt people.

3. 

The hair rolls and the burr have the same structure, as you can see on the tip of the hair there are something like hook to caught anything with a loop. By using the burr structure, the hair rolls can easily attach to the hair.

Stick Man

I found this decoration very interesting because it made of sticks that sticking together and forming a human that sitting on a chair. This is very creative as it looks abstract by putting piles of stick together but it actually can form something like human.
My reflection is I may think out of the box like using a stick to form sitting human, so that I can produce a really valuable work of art.

Visit to SAM - Part 2

Later on I go to the different section of the SAM building, and I found these artwork.

1.

 What make these artworks interesting is the materials. It made of rice seed, organized and colored perfectly to form these important figures' faces.

2.

 This is also an extraordinary artwork because it only use shampoo bottle cap as the materials and there are about hundreds or maybe thousands of it. The tonality is made from opening and closing the bottle cap. The dark part is from opened cap and the bright part is the closed cap. How creative!

3.

 This may seem ordinary or simple, as we often see paper plane. However, these paper planes have deep meaning and value, which a lot of people's wishes are written there.

4.

 From afar, this artwork looks like children crafts from papers. However, if you see from up close actually those flower papers are made from hospital bills and the bomb in the middle is made from used medicine or pills plastic.

5.

Last but not least, the artwork that amazed me the most is this one. As you can see, it formed like outer space with the planes hanging on the ceiling. But the most beautiful part is the glass that are attached on the objects and this make the chapel or the room glowing.

Visit to SAM - Part 1

I visited SAM with my classmates for Introduction to Visual Arts assignment, and of course there are a lot of artistic things there. These are some things that I wanna share with you guys!

1.

 I think this ball is really cool because it used metal as the only material to make it, and there is an important history and deep meaning behind it.

2.

There are about a hundred or maybe some hundreds of this wood crafts and all made by one artist. This artwork have different expressions and reflecting human feelings, and the interesting part is the artist make one artwork every day until it become hundreds.

3.

 This is really fun artwork because you can draw or decorate the photo (the blue door photo above) by yourself and put it on the board (the left photo).

4.

 There are about 4 to 5 monitors or televisions, each of them have their own scenes. The scenes are all connected, setting in a house with the family members are busy doing their own works.

End of the Festival

When I was about to go home at midnight, I saw these incredible things on my way. Here's are the photos!

You know the baby's toy that usually hung up in their bed and can rotating around with music? Imagine the extra large size of it, well it is the picture above. This is really amazing because it adapt the baby's toy concept and make it into the huge one; no people ever think about it. They use wire to form the object, and it can rotate by hang up into the machine. Cool!

Notice any birds on the trees? Well, of course you will notice because these are an enormous bird on the tree. Made from lamps, the birds look really beautiful because it kind of shining and matching with the dark night. With the help from the spotlight under it, they look more dramatic and easily attract people's attention. Really creative!

Illuminate - Peranakan Museum

Still in the night festival, I chose Peranakan Museum as the next destination. Well, it is because there was NAFA fashion student exhibition there. As NAFA student, I came to see what the seniors artwork and also support our seniors. When I got there, I was amazed by the decoration and the theme 'Illuminate'. It is indeed illuminating, where they use neon and having glow in the dark decoration. Very cool!

 The most spectacular part is that the clothes also glow in the dark (sorry for the blurry picture). It was really unique and extraordinary concept because it is still uncommon and should be difficult to make.

 This cloth attract my attention because the colors and also the design. This is a man's wear, but the design is very cool and chic, even with various of bright color it still looks cool and not decreasing the manly value.

I really like this dress. Even though it looks simple, but actually the design is really complex. You can see from the cloth are put randomly with a big neon flower, and I think this is really elegant and beautiful.
